Overview
The Anritsu MA24400A series (MA244xxA) are USB peak power sensors for measuring signals used in wireless communications. Depending on the model, they offer a video bandwidth (VBW) of up to 195 MHz. They can measure the peak power of wideband modulated signals such as 802.11ac, as well as pulses as narrow as 10 ns.
The sensors process power readings in real time, so they keep measuring while captured data is being processed. Sampling runs at 100 MSa/s continuously and at 10 GSa/s effective. This gives 100 ps time resolution and the ability to measure a 3 ns rise time.
The family has six models, covering 50 MHz to 6 GHz, 8 GHz, 18 GHz and 40 GHz. Each model has its own balance of video bandwidth and dynamic range. The sensors connect to a host PC over USB 2.0 high speed.
Software
The supplied PC software configures the sensor and displays the results. It shows peak and average power, a trace view for pulse power analysis, and CCDF graphs.
