Overview
The Anritsu MA24408A is a microwave peak power sensor in the MA24400A USB Peak Power Sensor family. It covers 50 MHz to 8 GHz and connects to a host PC over USB 2.0, measuring the peak and average power of modulated signals and pulsed RF.
In fast mode the MA24408A offers a video bandwidth of 165 MHz and a rise time of 4 ns, with a minimum measurable pulse width of 10 ns. The average-power dynamic range is -60 dBm to +20 dBm from 50 MHz to 6 GHz and -53 dBm to +20 dBm from 6 GHz to 8 GHz.
The sensors process measurements in parallel rather than serially, so power readings are processed in real time without the re-arm gaps of conventional designs. A continuous sampling rate of 100 MSa/s and an effective sampling rate of 10 GSa/s give 100 ps time resolution for rising and falling edge measurements, at up to 100,000 measurements per second.
Software
The supplied PC software configures the sensor and displays results, including peak and average power readouts, a trace view for pulse power analysis, and CCDF graphs. Triggering can be internal, external TTL, or crossover from another sensor, which allows synchronized multi-channel measurements.
