Overview
The Anritsu MA24440A is a microwave peak power sensor in the MA24400A USB Peak Power Sensor family. It covers 50 MHz to 40 GHz and connects to a PC over USB. It is built to measure the peak power of wideband modulated signals and short RF pulses.
The sensor processes power readings in parallel and in real time. It does not pause measurement while it processes captured data, so pulses and glitches are captured with almost no gaps. It samples continuously at 100 MSa/s and has an effective sampling rate of 10 GSa/s. This gives fine time resolution for measuring rising and falling edges.
On the MA24440A, the fast video bandwidth is 70 MHz with a 5 ns rise time. The average-power measurement range is -34 dBm to +20 dBm. The RF input uses a ruggedized K male connector.
Software
The sensor ships with PC software for setting it up and viewing results. Display modes include peak and average power readouts, a trace view for pulse power analysis, and CCDF graphs. The software also supports crest factor and other statistical measurements. Multiple sensors can be synchronized for multi-channel measurements.
