Overview
The Anritsu MA24406A is a microwave peak power sensor in the MA24400A USB Peak Power Sensor family. It covers 50 MHz to 6 GHz and connects to a PC over USB, measuring the peak and average power of wideband modulated signals and pulsed signals.
With a fast-mode video bandwidth of 195 MHz and a 3 ns rise time, the MA24406A can characterize wideband modulated signals such as 802.11ac as well as pulses as narrow as 10 ns. Its average-power dynamic range is –60 dBm to +20 dBm.
The sensor processes power readings in real time, in parallel with data capture, so measurement does not pause while captured data is processed. It samples at 100 MSa/s continuously and 10 GSa/s effective, which gives a time resolution of 100 ps for rising and falling edge measurements, and it delivers up to 100,000 measurements per second.
Software
The supplied PC software is used to configure the sensor and display results. Available views include peak and average power readouts, a trace view for pulse power analysis, and CCDF graphs. Triggering can be continuous, internal, external TTL, or crossover from another sensor, and multiple sensors can make synchronized measurements.
