Overview

The Anritsu Field Master MS2080A is a handheld RF spectrum analyzer offered in 9 kHz to 4 GHz (Option 704) and 9 kHz to 6 GHz (Option 706) frequency versions. It weighs less than 9 pounds (4 kg) and is built for field measurements, with a hard case, rubberized grip bumpers and an integrated kick stand that also suit bench use where space is limited.

Interference hunting

For locating interfering RF signals, the MS2080A combines a sweep speed of up to 45 GHz/s with AM/FM demodulation and RF source geolocation. An optional real-time spectrum analyzer (RTSA) captures short bursted and TDD signals. The Interference Finder option adds audio demodulation and triangulation of the interference source on a digital map, and the instrument works with the InterferenceHunter MA2700A handle and the Mobile InterferenceHunter MX280007A software.

Network and transmitter testing

LTE and 5GNR base station options provide the measurements needed when installing or optimizing a network, including coverage mapping of 5G/LTE signals on outdoor maps or indoor floor plans. AM/FM modulation quality, harmonic, spurious, occupied bandwidth, channel power and adjacent channel power measurements support broadcast transmitter verification.

Cable, antenna and component test

With the separately sold S331P Site Master connected, the MS2080A performs cable and antenna line sweep measurements. A tracking generator option enables cable and filter insertion loss testing and includes an offset tracking mode for conversion loss measurements on mixers and downconverters.
