Overview
The VIAVI ONT N-PORT is an application module for the ONT family of optical network testers. It provides four native, fully independent test ports, configurable as 4 x QSFP28 or 4 x SFP28, for test and system verification of 100G-class products.
Test applications cover Ethernet, OTN and Fibre Channel. According to the ONT-800 data sheet, the module also supports eCPRI over Ethernet rates from 10GE to 100GE and SDH/SONET at 10G and 2.5G.
The module is intended for component and module vendors, network equipment manufacturers and service providers. Its port density suits system verification testing (SVT), and each port can be used by a different user. The module uses the same GUI, automation and scripting environment as the rest of the ONT family. It occupies one slot in an ONT-800 mainframe.
