Overview
The VIAVI ONT 800G ETHERNET Module is an application module for the ONT-800 Optical Network Tester platform. It is designed for multi-port Ethernet testing in lab and production environments.
The module provides 400G-class Ethernet traffic generation along with Ethernet alarm and error testing. It uses the VIAVI Test Packet Format, which has high-precision timing, to measure Ethernet performance.
Two QSFP-DD ports support 400GE, including 400ZR, and 200GE. Breakout modes cover 8x50GE, 2x200GE and 4x100GE, plus 2x100GE and 1x200GE NRZ. Test functions include FEC error insertion and receive statistics, FEC stress testing for PAM-4 coded signals, MAC/IP alarm and error generation, high-precision delay measurement, service disruption testing and hardware validation.
The module shares the layer-based user interface, automation and scripting environment used across the ONT family. It supports multiple users and test automation.
