Overview
The VIAVI ONT CFP and CFP2 Test Modules support testing and verification of high-speed network elements for 25GE, 40GE, OTU3, 50GE, 100GE and OTU4. They are intended for the development of 100G-class products based on CFP and CFP2 technologies. CFP4 and QSFP28 support is available through adapters.
The ONT 100G solution is offered as three modules: a CFP version for validating CFP-related products and system equipment, a CFP2 version for in-depth analysis of CFP2-related products and systems, and a dual-port CFP2 version for system testing that includes a test application for generating complex test signals.
The CFP-based module is used in product development, system verification and new service deployment testing. The CFP2 module includes an error analysis application that helps designers identify the root causes of bit errors. When the ONT-612 mainframe is fully loaded with dual-port CFP2 modules, it produces up to 1.2 T of real-time traffic.
The modules also include a stress test application for CFP and CFP2 transponders, which covers tolerance to dynamic skew variation. They support multi-channel testing, OTN mapping and multiplexing, and automation through the ONT software.
