Overview

The MPO12MODKIT2-SM is a VIAVI kit built around the E41MPO12SM on-board MPO 12 switch module. It adds two 25 m single-mode fanout test cables, MPO unpinned to SC/APC and MPO unpinned to SC/PC, so that simplex fibers in high fiber count cables can be certified in bulk through a patch panel.

The switch module installs in the T-BERD/MTS-4000 V2 or OneAdvisor 800 platform and takes its power from the platform. It works with OTDR 4100 series modules (A, B, C, QUAD), with FiberComplete modules for bidirectional IL, ORL and OTDR testing, and with the TrueBIDIR software option. A 30 cm bend insensitive jumper connects the switch module to the OTDR or FiberComplete module.

Automated test sequence

The Cable-SLM application manages the switch sequence. It shows an overview of a high fiber count project with a pass/fail status for each fiber and connector tested. A "Test All Fibers" function runs a fully automated sequence over the 12 fibers and gives a visual verdict for each fiber. With Cable-SLM simplex fiber project management, groups of 12 fibers can be handled with a switch sequence that starts at any fiber number. Individual fibers can also be troubleshot to locate a fault.
