VIAVI E41MPO192SM High-Capacity MPO Based External Switch with Connecting Kit - 192 Ports

The VIAVI E41MPO192SM is the 192-port model of the High Capacity MPO Based External Switches portfolio. It is supplied as an external switch with connecting kit and is used with an OTDR 4100 series module on the T-BERD/MTS-4000 V2 or OneAdvisor 800 platform to automate bulk fiber testing of high fiber count cables.

The switch connects to the platform via USB and is powered by the mainframe unit. Its output ports are MPO-12 APC (pinned) connectors, allowing native multi-fiber MPO/MTP links to be certified directly, or simplex fibers to be tested through fanout/breakout cables at a patch panel. Bi-directional OTDR testing is supported with the TrueBIDIR software option.

Automated test sequence

The switching sequence is managed by the Cable-SLM application, which provides an overview of a high fiber count project with a pass/fail status for each fiber and connector tested. A "Test All Fibers" function starts a fully automated sequence and gives a visual verdict for each fiber of a 12-fiber MPO connector. Groups of up to 192 fibers can be managed with a switch sequence starting at any fiber number, and individual fibers can be troubleshot for a precise fault diagnosis.

During network construction, contractors can test many fibers remotely from a single central point such as a local office. Tests can be launched or controlled remotely with the SmartAccess Anywhere (SAA) software option, and the solution is StrataSync enabled for cloud-based asset, configuration, test data and workflow management.
