Overview
The VIAVI OneAdvisor 800 DTS is a portable instrument for Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and part of the VIAVI NITRO Fiber Sensing solution. It uses fiber optic cables to provide real-time temperature information in and around fiber optic cables, hybrid cables and fiber-enabled assets, delivering absolute temperature measurements along extensive lengths of fiber.
The instrument is intended for assessing the integrity of telecom optical fibers and data center interconnects (DCI), and for temperature assessment of fiber-enabled assets in applications such as power utilities, pipelines, bridges, buildings and other infrastructure. Measurements are single-ended and require only one fiber.
The OneAdvisor 800 DTS combines dual-wavelength single-mode Raman and Rayleigh OTDR in one package. As a multi-test platform it can be extended with additional capabilities such as OTDR testing and connector inspection. It is battery operated, has a large touchscreen user interface, and supports remote control and operation over Bluetooth, WiFi and Ethernet with Smart Access Anywhere (SAA).
For permanent monitoring, the same technology is also available as the rack-mounted Fiber Test Head (FTH-DTS), used in OEM mode or with the VIAVI Remote Fiber Test System (ONMSi).
