Overview

The TCU5713 is a member of the Luna T-Ray® 5000 TCU57yz line of terahertz control units, the T-Ray® 5700 models. The control unit sends precisely controlled optical signals to T-Gauge sensor heads so that they can generate and receive terahertz signals. The processed waveforms allow several measurements to be made at the same time with a single sensor head. The T-Ray 5000 platform processes measured signals at up to 1,000 times per second.

The T-Ray® 5700 models have the same measurement capabilities as the T-Ray® 5600 and add cybersecurity features. The TCU57yz control unit runs from an external PC, so the customer's IT or cybersecurity department can maintain the operating system. The TCU connects to the external PC through a USB A/B cable that carries Ethernet, and the unit has no internal storage.

The instrument comes with two optical channels as standard. Within the series, the TCU5713 has the 700 ps delay configuration, which gives a 100 mm measurement range. The control unit works with a range of gauges and sensors connected through robust cabling, and T-Ray Server Software converts terahertz signals into measurement data. Communication protocols and I/O options let the system be integrated with industrial automation and robotics.
