Overview
The T-Gauge HXP51y2 Online EPG Sensor Head is a terahertz transceiver head for the T-Ray® 5000 measurement system. It measures thinner layers than the standard online sensor head. Its higher bandwidth and higher signal-to-noise ratio extend terahertz process control to more applications.
When connected to a T-Ray® 5000 Control Unit (TCU), the HXP51y2 gives a detailed waveform response for single-sided measurement of layered products. It can measure coatings on metal or composite substrates and free-standing films down to 10 microns (0.5 mils).
The transmitter and receiver are mounted inside a sealed metal housing. A single umbilical carries both the electrical and optical connections. It is built with high flex rated electrical cable so the head can scan continuously on scanners or robots.
