T-Ray Server Terahertz Waveform Processing Software
Modular server-client software that collects, analyzes and serves terahertz waveforms and measurement data from the T-Ray Terahertz Control Unit.
- THz waveform streaming rate
- up to 1000 per second
Overview
T-Ray® Server is a modular software platform from Luna's TeraMetrix product line that collects, analyzes and serves terahertz (THz) waveforms and measurement data for a range of customer applications.
The software uses a server-client architecture. The server runs on a single-board computer (SBC) embedded in the Terahertz Control Unit (TCU), where it acts as the calculation engine that collects and processes terahertz waveforms to produce measurements. These measurements are accessed through the T-Ray® Server client programs, or through XML commands sent over one of the SBC's Ethernet ports. The XML interface allows customers to write their own client programs that use the data available from the server.
Software modules
T-Ray® Basic provides configuration of the TCU inputs and outputs and streams THz waveforms at up to 1000 per second. T-Ray® T-Gauge adds recipe-based waveform analysis and logging, T-Ray® Imaging builds 2D images and B-scans from recipe output and encoder position data, and dedicated modules support the Single Point Gauge (SPG) and Line Scan Gauge (LSG) handheld tools. T-Ray® Security adds user levels, per-user logins and an encrypted recipe database for SPG deployments.
Analysis recipes are stored in the system database and can be recalled at any time. Client programs such as the Dashboard, Recipes, Logging and Imaging clients can also be installed on a separate computer communicating with the server over Ethernet.

Options & Accessories
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| T-Ray Basic | T-Ray® Basic — Dashboard and Waveform clients plus Status and Setup modules for fundamental TCU operation; displays raw time-domain waveforms and power spectrum, logs waveforms and streams them to external software in multiple formats. |
| T-Ray T-Gauge | T-Ray® T-Gauge — Recipes and Logging clients for defining waveform analysis recipes (peak identification, fitting and tracking, time/frequency-domain analysis) and displaying or logging the output measurements. |
| T-Ray Imaging | T-Ray® Imaging — Combines recipe output with TCU encoder position data to display 2D images and B-scan cross-sections; stores images or full waveform data sets for reprocessing. |
| SPG | SPG software module — Runs in the T-Ray Server shell and provides the software interface for the Single Point Gauge (SPG) handheld measurement tool touchscreen; sequential measurements can be written to a csv file. |
| T-Ray Security | T-Ray® Security — Feature set for SPG deployments adding expanded user levels, unique logins, hidden recipe scripts at lower user levels and an encrypted system database. |
| LSG | LSG software module — Runs in the T-Ray Server shell to support the Line Scan Gauge (LSG) handheld scanner, displaying live B-scans and providing flush and gap measurement mode. |
