Overview

The Luna TCU5613 is a member of the TCU56xx family, the T-Ray 5600 generation of the T-Ray 5000 terahertz platform. Its optical subsystems and electronics were redesigned to improve reliability, maintainability and performance. The TCU5613 is the 700 ps delay configuration of the family and covers a measurement range of 100 mm.

Measurement principle

The control unit delivers precisely controlled optical signals to T-Gauge sensor heads, which use them to generate and receive terahertz signals. The processed waveforms allow several measurements to be made at the same time with a single sensor head. The unit has two optical channels as standard, for simultaneous measurements in reflection or transmission.

Software and integration

The TCU56xx works with a range of gauges and sensors connected through robust cabling and connection interfaces. T-Ray Server Software converts terahertz signals into measurement data in engineering units. Several communication protocols and I/O options support integration with industrial automation and robotics.

Key Features

  • Ultra high speed measurements of moving samples for online process monitoring
  • High precision thickness measurements of single and multi-layer material structures
  • Dual optical channels for multiple simultaneous measurements in either reflection or transmission
  • Powerful and user-friendly application oriented software platform
  • Fiber coupled sensor allows product scanning via high flex umbilical cable
  • Simple user interface with independent measurement recipes
  • Abundance of communication protocols and I/O options
  • Provides measurement data in engineering units
  • Easy integration with industrial automation and robotics
