Overview

The VIAVI UPG-ONX-630SWX-730-BB is a OneExpert HFC mainframe upgrade package that moves an ONX-630 SWX configuration to the ONX-730 platform. It belongs to the Broadband Power Meter package group and combines a broadband optical power meter, a visual fault locator (VFL) and optical loss mode with OneCheck Ethernet, OneCheck WiFi and 10G VIAVI SpeedCheck, together with the ONX 730 SWX software package.

The OneExpert HFC (ONX-720/730) validates DOCSIS, Ethernet, PON and WiFi 7 throughput up to 10 Gbps in under a minute. One-button testing through VIAVI Test Process Automation (TPA) and the unified OneCheck workflow automate pass/fail testing, with geo-tagged saved results, to support process compliance and reduce repeat visits.

DOCSIS and RF

The ONX-720/730 preserves the RF and DOCSIS testing features of the ONX-620/630, including support for existing ONX DOCSIS/RF modules. The mainframe upgrade is compatible with the OneExpert CATV D3.1 modules listed by VIAVI, and a module adapter is available for existing D3.1 modules.

Optical Tools

The integrated broadband power meter measures power levels across 800 to 1650 nm through a universal 2.5 mm connection, and the optical loss mode saves a reference and calculates loss. A 650 nm VFL and support for USB fiber scopes with automatic analysis assist with fiber troubleshooting.

Package Contents

Upgrade packages include a protective fitted case and Cat6A M-F and M-M jumpers. An AC charger is not included as standard in upgrade packages but can be added as an option; the OneExpert HFC uses the same charger as the OneExpert CATV. The unit is IP54 rated, drop-tested and has a modular design, with integrated GPS, StrataSync and mobile app support.
