Overview

The VIAVI OneExpert HFC ONXF-730-BB-42-204-NTX is a new-unit package of the ONX-730 handheld platform. It combines DOCSIS, Ethernet, fiber and WiFi 7 service testing in one device and validates throughput up to 10 Gbps in under a minute. This configuration ships with the ONX-CATV-D31-S-4220-1012 DOCSIS 3.1 module (42/204 MHz upstream, 1.0/1.2 GHz downstream) and the ONX 730 NTX software package.

Optical tools

The broadband power meter package adds an integrated broadband optical power meter, a 1 mW visual fault locator and optical loss mode, which saves a reference and calculates loss. The unit also supports USB fiber scopes with automatic pass/fail analysis.

Test Process Automation

OneCheck workflows for Ethernet and WiFi automate pass/fail testing and save results with geo tags. VIAVI SpeedCheck at 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps is included. Ookla Speedtest, TrueSpeed and iPerf tests are available as options.

DOCSIS and RF

The ONX-730 keeps the RF and DOCSIS test functions of the ONX-620/630, including support for existing RF modules. The NTX package includes Return Signal Generator with Loopback and Ingress Expert. Reverse Sweepless Sweep, QAM video verification and PathTrak Field View are optional.

Design

The unit is IP54 rated, weatherproof and drop-tested, with integrated GPS, StrataSync and mobile app support. It has a field-replaceable 96 W/hr battery, and its modular design allows upgrades to 25G/50G PON and DOCSIS 4.0.
