Overview
The VIAVI Fusion JMEP10 is the 10 Gbps member of the Fusion JMEP family of smart SFP transceivers, a micro Ethernet probe for Ethernet and IP performance assurance. The family also includes the 1 Gbps JMEP3. The transceiver deploys inline in existing network device SFP ports, reducing the need for additional network instrumentation.
Installed in a network port, the JMEP10 provides network operators and service providers with a remote test point, which turns the port into a service-assurance tool with Ethernet operation, administration and maintenance (OAM) support for 10GE. It can be placed at network demarcation points to isolate network boundaries without deploying additional devices or consuming additional space and power.
The probe supports RFC 2544 and Y.1564 test methodologies, activates L2/L3 test loopbacks, and monitors inline performance using Y.1731 and TWAMP-Light (RFC 5357). Measurements include throughput, availability, frame loss, frame delay and frame delay variation, and 802.1ag OAM is available for fault isolation.
The JMEP10 is compatible with the VIAVI T-BERD/MTS test portfolio and with the Fusion EtherASSURE centralized test solution.
