Overview
The VIAVI Fusion JMEP is a family of micro Ethernet probes for Ethernet and IP performance assurance. The probes are gigabit Ethernet smart SFP transceivers that plug into the existing SFP ports of network devices, so operators need less additional network instrumentation.
The family has two transceiver versions: the 1 Gbps JMEP3 and the 10 Gbps JMEP10. Both are deployed inline in existing network equipment. They give network operators and service providers remote test points that support performance-assured service delivery.
The probes add Ethernet operation, administration and maintenance (OAM) to any 1GE or 10GE port. They support standards-based test methods such as RFC 2544, Y.1564, Y.1731 and TWAMP-Light. This lets demarcation points and network boundaries be tested and monitored without adding devices or using extra space and power.
Fusion JMEP works with the VIAVI T-BERD/MTS test portfolio and the Fusion EtherASSURE centralized test solution. It is used for turn-up, troubleshooting and monitoring in mobile backhaul, business services and cloud networking.
