Overview
The HSC50yn is a compact industrial terahertz sensor from Luna's T-Ray 5000 series. It is intended for applications that need a smaller footprint, a lighter weight or two output beams.
The sensor uses a single-fiber, lighter-weight umbilical and a more compact housing, which allows it to be mounted on a robot. Its collinear design means a separate transmitter and receiver are not required.
The HSC50yn has two measurement ports, at 0° and 90°, and both can be used at the same time. With a suitable configuration, it can inspect two points on the same object. On small-diameter tubing, it can measure four orthogonal points at once.
In a typical configuration, the sensor is used with a Terahertz Controller, an umbilical of 5, 10 or 30 m, and the T-Ray Basic and T-Gauge software. In the model code, Y identifies the lens and n identifies the transmitter type.
