Overview

The Anritsu Spectrum Master MS2720T is a handheld spectrum analyzer offered in frequency ranges of 9 kHz to 9 GHz, 13 GHz and 20 GHz. It is the seventh generation of the Spectrum Master line and introduces a touch screen interface, full-band tracking generators to 20 GHz and broadband preamplifiers across the whole frequency range.

The instrument provides three sweep modes, resolution and video bandwidths from 1 Hz to 10 MHz, and triggering with hysteresis, hold-off and delay. A Burst Detect sweep mode captures 200 μs bursts, and a 30 MHz wide zero-span IF output at 140 MHz supports external demodulation of wideband signals.

Beyond spectrum analysis, the MS2720T can be configured with more than 30 optional analyzers and functions, including a high accuracy power meter using USB power sensors, interference analyzer with on-screen interference mapping, channel scanner, GPS receiver, PIM hunting, secure data operation, and signal analyzers for LTE (FDD and TDD), GSM/EDGE, W-CDMA/HSPA+, TD-SCDMA/HSPA+, CDMA/EV-DO and Fixed and Mobile WiMAX.

Software and remote access

Master Software Tools, a PC program included with the instrument, provides data analysis for spectrum clearing and interference monitoring. easyTest Tools, also included, supports repetitive measurements with step-by-step work instructions displayed on the instrument. A built-in web server allows remote viewing and manual control from HTML-5 browsers.

Portability

The instrument weighs about 8 pounds fully loaded including the Li-Ion battery, is specified for operation to +55 °C on AC or battery, and is intended for field use such as tower work, spectrum monitoring, hidden signal detection, microwave backhaul testing and cellular signal measurements.
