Overview
The μOTDR Module MU909014B/14B1/15B/15B1 series from Anritsu are OTDR modules for the Network Master MT9090A mainframe. Together they form a handheld optical time-domain reflectometer sized to fit in the palm of the hand, intended for fiber installation and maintenance.
The modules provide 5 cm resolution for event mapping, deadzones of less than 1 meter (3 feet) and a dynamic range of up to 37 dB. According to Anritsu, this is sufficient to test links over 150 km (90 miles) or PON-based FTTx networks with splits of up to 1 x 64.
An integrated launch fiber allows measurement of the initial connector without external devices. A Fiber Visualizer mode simplifies operation for users without OTDR experience, and the platform also includes an optical power meter and a visible red light source for fiber maintenance. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
