Overview

The MU909014B1 is a member of the Anritsu µOTDR Module series MU909014B/14B1/15B/15B1. Fitted to the Network Master MT9090A mainframe, it forms a handheld optical time domain reflectometer sized to fit in the palm of the hand, for the installation and maintenance of optical fiber.

Anritsu specifies the series with 5 cm resolution for mapping events, deadzones of less than 1 meter (3 feet), and a dynamic range of up to 37 dB. That is enough to test links over 150 km (90 miles) or PON-based FTTx networks with splits of up to 1 x 64.

The module has an integrated launch fiber for measuring the initial connector without external devices, and a Fiber Visualizer mode that can be operated without OTDR expertise. The platform also offers an optical power meter, a visible red-light source, and Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Its housing is rugged and sealed.
