Overview
The NSC200-GPON-XGSPON-PLUS is a standard ordering package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-200). The NSC-200 is a compact, screenless hand-held test device that combines PON, Ethernet and WiFi test interfaces with VIAVI OneCheck applications for network validation and multi-gig service testing by frontline technicians and installers.
This package includes GPON and XGSPON test capability, Ethernet testing, VIAVI SpeedCheck 1G and Ookla Speedtest 1G. GPON and XGSPON testing use VIAVI GPON and XGSPON SFPs for ONU/ONT emulation, reporting PON activation state, power levels, PON ID and ODN class according to ITU-T G.984, G.9807 and G.988. This allows technicians to confirm that PON service delivery is good before troubleshooting the premises network.
Operation and reporting
The NSC is operated through the VIAVI Mobile Tech app on a smartphone or tablet over Bluetooth. Job Manager helps technicians manage jobs, test results and reports, and reports can be submitted via the cloud (StrataSync) or by email. VIAVI Fusion can use NSC units as remote-controlled test agents.
Additional capabilities of the NSC-200 platform, such as WiFi tests, TrueSpeed, iPerf, higher-rate speed tests, L2/L3 loopback and TWAMP reflector, are available as options.
