Overview

The NSC200-ENTERPRISE-PRO is an enterprise standard package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-200), a compact, screenless hand-held test device. According to the ordering information, this package combines Ethernet and WiFi test capability with the VIAVI TrueSpeed 1G throughput test.

The NSC-200 is a test solution for Ethernet, enterprise and data center networks. It combines active Ethernet and WiFi testing to support service activation and troubleshooting on network Layers 2, 3 and 4. Active throughput tests based on TrueSpeed (RFC 6349) help identify throughput issues that affect customers.

The unit can be used to validate business services on its own, or as a remote loopback device together with the T-BERD/MTS-5800 for Y.1564 and RFC 2544 tests. WiFi testing evaluates coverage and performance and gives network improvement recommendations when performance falls below expectations. The NSC also supports 24/7 monitoring sessions for long-term root cause analysis and SLA monitoring.

Workflow and connectivity

The NSC is operated through the VIAVI Mobile Tech app over Bluetooth on Android or iOS devices. Job Manager organizes jobs, test results and reports. Reports can be generated on the unit and sent through the StrataSync cloud platform or by email. VIAVI Fusion, a centralized test system, can use NSC units as remote-controlled test agents.
