Overview

The NSC100-XGSPON-PLUS is a standard PON package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-100). The package combines XGSPON testing with Ethernet testing and the SpeedCheck 1G and Ookla Speedtest 1G throughput applications.

The Network & Service Companion is a compact, screenless hand-held device that combines multiple test interfaces with VIAVI OneCheck applications for network validation and service testing by frontline technicians and installers. It is operated from a smart device through the VIAVI Mobile Tech app over Bluetooth.

In XGSPON mode the unit emulates an ONU/ONT using a VIAVI XGSPON SFP with an SC/APC interface, reporting PON activation state, power levels, PON ID and ODN class according to ITU-T G.9807 and G.988. Ethernet tests cover frames, IP connectivity, ping, traceroute and web connectivity, so technicians can confirm PON service delivery before troubleshooting in-premises distribution.

Test results are managed with the on-board Job Manager and can be submitted through StrataSync or by email from a smart phone or tablet. The unit runs on a field-replaceable rechargeable Li-Ion battery charged over USB-C.
