Overview
The NSC100-PLATINUM-1G is a standard ordering package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-100), a compact, screenless hand-held tester that combines PON, Ethernet and WiFi test interfaces with VIAVI OneCheck applications for network validation and service activation testing by frontline technicians and installers.
The Platinum 1G package bundles GPON, Ethernet and WiFi testing with SpeedCheck 1G, Ookla Speedtest 1G, TrueSpeed 1G (RFC-6349), Ethernet loopback 1G and a TWAMP reflector. This allows a single unit to cover residential and small business service turn-up as well as enterprise Ethernet validation, including use as a remote loopback device with the T-BERD/MTS-5800 for Y.1564 and RFC 2544 tests.
Workflow and connectivity
The unit is operated from a smart device through the VIAVI Mobile Tech app over Bluetooth. Job Manager organizes jobs, test results and reports, and reports can be submitted through StrataSync or sent directly by email. VIAVI Fusion can use NSC units as remote-controlled test agents for long-term testing, failure analysis and SLA monitoring.
WiFi testing
WiFi Expert passively analyses networks up to WiFi 6, reporting signal strength, channel noise, airtime and estimated throughput with improvement recommendations, while OneCheck WiFi connects to the network to verify IP/web connectivity and throughput.
