Overview
The NSC100-GPON-BASE is the GPON entry package of the VIAVI Network & Service Companion (NSC-100). The Network & Service Companion is a compact, screenless handheld device. It combines PON, Ethernet and WiFi test interfaces with VIAVI OneCheck applications so frontline technicians and installers can validate the network and test services.
In this package the instrument is ordered with the GPON interface. It emulates an ONU/ONT through a VIAVI GPON SFP with an SC/APC interface and complies with G.984.2 and G.988 OMCI. Results include the PON activation state, power levels reported by the SFP, PON ID and ODN class, in line with ITU-T G.984 and G.988. Technicians can use these results to confirm that PON service delivery is good before troubleshooting inside the premises.
Operation and reporting
The NSC has no screen of its own. Technicians control it over Bluetooth with the VIAVI Mobile Tech app on Android or iOS smart devices, or from supported VIAVI instruments. Job Manager organises jobs, test results and reports. Reports can be generated on the device and submitted through StrataSync in the cloud or sent by email.
Expandability
The NSC-100 platform can be extended with options for XGSPON, Ethernet, WiFi, throughput tests, loopback and TWAMP reflector.
