Overview
The VIAVI OneAdvisor 800 is a modular field test platform for the installation, turn-up and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks. It combines a large touchscreen user interface with touch gesture control and built-in assistant applications that guide technicians through instrument usage.
The platform accepts a range of test modules, including OTDR and PON-OTDR, DWDM and CWDM OTDR, FiberComplete PRO bidirectional IL/ORL and OTDR, optical spectrum analysis, DWDM optical channel checking and dispersion (PMD, CD, AP) measurement. Modularity covers dual-bay, detachable and plug-in configurations via a module carrier, and the mainframe can also host RF, cable and antenna, and Ethernet/protocol test functions.
When performing OTDR tests, automatic traffic detection reduces the risk of live signal interference or damage to the optical transmitter. Consolidated reporting reduces the volume of test results to manage.
Workflow and connectivity
Job Manager provides workflow automation across test functions and is enabled by the cloud-based StrataSync service. Smart Access Anywhere (SAA) supports remote access and coaching. An optional built-in power meter and visual fault locator (ONA-PMVFL) is available as a mainframe hardware option.
