Overview
The HTS40n3 Transmitter Type 3 is a fiber-coupled terahertz sensor head for the Luna T-Ray® 5000 terahertz measurement system. It provides uniform signal to noise over an extended range for high-resolution spectroscopy, and minimizes waveform distortions after the pulse. This allows high-resolution temporal measurement of layer thicknesses without post-processing of the waveform.
When paired with an HRS40n1 receiver, the HTS40n3 provides a bandwidth of over 3.5 THz and a signal to noise ratio above 55 dB. Because the signal to noise is uniform across a broad bandwidth, the transmitter suits applications that need both high resolution and a broad spectral range.
The sensor head operates in reflection or transmission mode and delivers a picosecond-duration time-domain terahertz pulse, so scanned images can be produced at high speed. Sensor heads are replaceable and hot swappable with other transmitters, so the system can be configured for a specific application. The transmitter mates with the AXA40n1 collinear adapter and has an adjustable lens tube for focusing.
A typical configuration includes a terahertz controller, an umbilical pair (5, 10 or 30 m), an umbilical adapter, a receiver, and T-Ray® Basic and T-Gauge® software.
