VIAVI V2X and C-V2X Test Solutions

Overview

The VIAVI V2X and C-V2X portfolio tests, validates and benchmarks connected-vehicle communications. It is used to check that V2X communications and cellular V2X (C-V2X) technology comply with standards and operate correctly under a wide range of conditions, using test metrics focused on precision, repeatability and safety. The solutions support the design and deployment of V2X test scenarios and communication services while reducing the amount of field testing required.

Virtual test environment

The V2X Virtual Test System supports conformance testing as well as functional validation and performance testing of devices and systems implementing V2X applications. It combines emulator software with the dedicated VIAVI M1 C-V2X hardware kit and runs traffic scenarios on the test bench in a virtual environment that reflects the communication properties of field testing, from early prototyping to pre-production.

Protocol conformance test suites

The TTsuite family provides automatically executable TTCN-3 test scripts for verifying V2X signaling protocol implementations in On-Board Units (OBUs) and Road-Side Units (RSUs). TTsuite-China-ITS covers CCSA and C-SAE specifications over LTE-V PC5, TTsuite-EU-ITS covers ETSI ITS test specifications over ITS-G5 or C-V2X PC5, TTsuite-WAVE-DSRC covers the USDOT COC WAVE conformance suite over DSRC, and TTsuite-WAVE-LTEV covers the US WAVE protocol stack over LTE-V PC5.

Test development environment

TTworkbench is the integrated TTCN-3 test development and execution environment on which the test suites run. It is available in Basic and Professional formats and ships with the TTplugins TCP and UDP pre-installed.

Standardization

VIAVI works with government agencies, standard bodies, independent test labs and industry forums on the features and services used in intelligent transportation systems and connected vehicles.
