Overview
VIAVI TestCenter Platforms is the hardware family that runs VIAVI TestCenter, the Layer 2-3 traffic generation and protocol emulation software. The family includes rack-mountable 2U QSFP-DD and OSFP appliances (A1, A2, A3 and B3), the D2 1.6T appliance, the compact C2 multi-speed appliance, and a range of test modules and chassis covering rates from 100M to 1.6T.
The 400G appliances (A1, A2 and A3) use QSFP-DD ports that can be configured for PAM4 400/200/100/50G and NRZ 200/100/50/40/25/10G speed modes, with Auto-Negotiation and Link Training. The B3 4-port and 8-port appliances support QSFP-DD800 and OSFP800 interfaces at 800/400/200/100/50G in 112 Gbps and 56 Gbps PAM4 modes, providing up to 6.4 Tbps of test traffic. Smart Port Technology allows single port and speed upgrades through licensing.
AI infrastructure testing
The B3 800G and D2 1.6T appliances support RoCEv2, CCL workload emulation and Ultra Ethernet Transport (UET) based on the UEC 1.0 specification. The TestCenter UET solution is delivered as a software license and covers Transport and Link Layer testing, including a conformance test suite with more than 50 test cases for the Packet Delivery Sub-layer.
Timing and analysis
Appliances use a Stratum-3 rated oscillator with 2.5 ns frame time-stamp resolution, and a patented self-calibrating inter-chassis timing chain allows up to 255 appliances to be daisy-chained. Tests can be created and run from the web UI, the Windows UI or automation APIs, and the TestCenter MCP Server provides a natural-language interface for test configuration, execution and analysis.
The C2 appliance is a portable 2U system with up to two interface cards and up to 8 Ethernet ports at 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G and 100M, intended for workbench, production-line, field and training use.
