SAASM HD CSAC and DOCXO GPSDO Military SAASM GPS Disciplined Oscillator

Military SAASM GPS disciplined oscillator combining a dual-frequency P(Y) receiver with a CSAC or DOCXO oscillator on a 2.0 x 2.85 inch board.

Receiver
12 Ch. SAASM L1 and L2 P(Y) and C/A GPS receiver
Signals
L1 and L2 GPS signals with C/A and P(Y) code

Overview

The SAASM HD GPSDO product line combines a P(Y)-capable military SAASM dual-frequency GPS receiver with a chip-scale atomic clock on a ruggedized PC board measuring 2.0 x 2.85 x 0.6 inches. CSAC or DOCXO oscillators provide three variants for timing or low phase noise frequency applications. The unit receives L1 and L2 GPS signals with C/A and P(Y) code and is designed to provide a Position, Velocity, Time and Frequency reference in demanding environments such as aircraft, tracked and wheeled vehicles, and man-packs.

The SAASM HD GPSDO provides 10 MHz, 1PPS, and position and velocity information ("PVT Assured Operation"), using Anti-Spoofing and Anti-Jamming technology for operation in hostile environments. In the CSAC version, a built-in cesium vapor atomic clock maintains timing and frequency performance in GPS holdover mode, with typical drift of up to 1 µs per day, and the unit reaches full operational readiness within 2 minutes after power-on.

The CSAC version combines a Rockwell Collins MicroGRAM SAASM GPS receiver and a Symmetricom/Microsemi CSAC atomic oscillator on one PCB, with total power consumption below 1.1 W. The DOCXO version (the SAASM FireFly-IIA GPSDO) is form-fit-function compatible and is aimed at low phase noise applications, with an Allan Deviation in the xE-012 range.

The SAASM HD GPSDO product line has been granted Security Approval by the Global Positioning System Directorate.
