Overview
The VIAVI 800G Transport Module is a test module for the OneAdvisor 800 platform. It provides optics coverage for QSFP-DD800/QSFP-DD/QSFP, OSFP800/OSFP and SFP-DD/SFP56 pluggables. The OneAdvisor 800 also integrates fiber optic testing with OTDR and OSA modules, so one portable unit covers both transport and fiber tests.
The module has two QSFPx, two OSFP and two SFP-DD physical test ports, plus a built-in GNSS receiver for future expansion. It reports full power consumption for all optics types and supports native PAM4 and NRZ signaling with electrical pre-emphasis. The module's cooling capacity allows it to support 800GE ZR/ZR+ pluggable optics.
The supported Ethernet rates are 800GE, 400GE, 200GE, 100GE (with no FEC, RS (528,514) FEC or full RS (544,514) FEC), 50GE on SFP56, 40GE, 25GE (FEC or bypass), 10GE and 1GE. The supported OTN rates are OTU4, OTU3, OTU2e, OTU1e/OTU1 and OTU2.
The OneAdvisor 800 accepts one or two Power Expansion Modules (PEM), which let 400G or 800GE tests run for longer without AC power. Scripted workflows such as QuickCheck, RFC 2544, OTN Check and Optics Self-Test help different users run tests the same way.
