Overview
The VIAVI Data Center Expert 700 (DCX 700) is a Tier 1 multifiber optical loss test set designed for high-density AI data centers. It supports one-cord referencing with native 12-, 16- and 24-fiber connectivity, removing the need for Y cables and helping crews keep results consistent across sites. Modular, swappable adapters allow the instrument to follow changes in connectivity, and an extended-life, field-swappable battery supports full-shift operation.
One-cord referencing
One-cord referencing is the recognized best practice for Tier 1 multifiber certification. The DCX 700 uses a single test cord with one connection at each end and no branches or Y cables. Using standard test cables simplifies referencing and test procedures, shortens training time for new technicians and improves the consistency of the certification process.
Measurements
The system consists of the DCX 750 singlemode light source and the DCX 760 broadband power meter. It measures loss, length and polarity at 1310 and 1550 nm, with a typical testing time of 1 second for 24 channels, and supports link validation, standards-based limits and application-based limits.
Test Process Automation
The DCX 700 integrates with VIAVI Test Process Automation (TPA), a cloud-based workflow solution powered by StrataSync. TPA connects teams and test instruments through StrataSync, the VIAVI Mobile Tech App, ReportPRO and VIAVI test instruments, giving real-time visibility of jobs from definition to closeout. Results can be downloaded via USB to ReportPRO or over WiFi/Bluetooth to the VIAVI MobileTech App and StrataSync.
