Overview
VIAVI TestCenter is a network test environment for validating Ethernet infrastructure. The TestCenter Ultra Ethernet (UET) Validation Solution validates next-generation AI fabrics against the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC) specification 1.0. It is sold as a software license for the VIAVI B3 800G and D2 1.6T appliance platforms and supports 100G, 200G, 400G, 800G and 1.6T testing at the Transport and Link Layers.
Transport and Link Layer testing
The Link Layer functions include built-in error insertion and cover both 224G and 112G SerDes fabrics. Transport layer emulation runs at scale. It supports Reliable Ordered Delivery, Reliable Unordered Delivery, and both NSCC and RCC congestion control. This allows testing of load balancing, switch buffer management and congestion notifications. Packet Trimming and Dynamic Entropy change/Multi pathing support let users test early congestion detection and congestion avoidance.
AI workload emulation and benchmarking
The solution emulates AI workloads at scale using CCL and LLM traffic patterns. Benchmark metrics include JCT, tail latency (P95/P99/P99.9), BusBW, packet latency histograms and out-of-sequence counts. Autonomous Flow Tracking monitors traffic patterns and performance metrics across the fabric.
UEC conformance test suite
A dedicated UEC conformance suite with more than 50 test cases lets silicon vendors, switch and NIC manufacturers, hyperscalers and neoclouds validate their implementations against the UEC 1.0 specification. Initial coverage is the Packet Delivery Sub-layer (PDS): configuration, delivery modes, PDC lifecycle management, ACK/NACK and retransmission management, and trimming management. The suite works alongside the existing functional, scale and performance testing modes.
