Overview

The VIAVI ATB-7300NG is a bench-top navigation signal generator. OEMs and MRO return-to-service shops use it to confirm the performance of VHF, ILS localizer and glide slope, VOR, ADF and marker beacon equipment.

The test set is built on the VIAVI AXIe Avionics Test Bench (ATB) platform, which is designed for users from OEMs to repair shops. The platform covers every stage of the avionics lifecycle: product development, design verification and validation, certification, manufacturing, return-to-service, and service/calibration.

Signal generation

The unit has separate generators for VHF COMM (AM and SELCAL modes), ILS localizer, ILS glide slope, VOR, ADF and marker beacon signals. Each generator lets the user set tone frequencies, modulation depths and IDENT parameters, including Morse code identification. The VHF generator also handles SELCAL tones and tone sequences.

Control and compatibility

The ATB-7300NG has a basic graphical user interface and an Ethernet remote control interface. It offers legacy command set compatibility with the NAV-2000R, the ATN-7300 and the Collins 479S-6A.
