Overview
The Nicslab XDAC U-80 (XDAC-80U-R4G8) is a compact multichannel source measurement system with 80 independently controlled unipolar channels. Each channel can source and measure voltage and current, making the system suitable for low-power applications ranging from simple electronic circuits to complex photonic integrated circuits.
The instrument operates in two modes: Constant Current (CC), from 0 to 300 mA per channel, and Constant Voltage (CV), from 0 to 34 V. Voltage and current are set with 16-bit resolution, and the maximum output power is 10 W per channel. Real-time voltage and current readback is available on every channel.
Basic and Premium versions
The Basic version operates on a fixed 0–34 V / 0–300 mA output range. The Premium upgrade adds software-selectable voltage sub-ranges (0–5 V, 0–10 V, 0–20 V) and current sub-ranges down to 0–3.125 mA, each with 16-bit resolution, along with configuration save and upload, CC/CV sequence automation, data recording, per-channel limits, threshold and short-circuit protection, and the SCPI software library.
Control and connectivity
The system is controlled through a graphical user interface or SCPI commands over Ethernet, with a USB-to-Ethernet adapter included for computers without an Ethernet port. Programming examples are provided for Python, and SCPI control is supported from MATLAB, LabVIEW and C#. The GUI runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. The unit is powered from a single external DC supply of 12 V to 36 V.
