Overview
The Luna os3300 series consists of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) based strain rosette sensors. Each sensor carries three active strain elements oriented at 0°, 45° and 90°, and the low-profile sensors can be distributed over distances of up to 10 km.
The os3300 is designed for compact, spot-weldable strain measurement and can be combined on the same instrumentation platform with sensors for other physical parameters such as temperature, displacement, acceleration, tilt and pressure. A mounting plate affixed to the sensor guides the installer for simple, repeatable installation.
The series covers a strain range of -1,800 to 1,800 με and is available in two versions: the os3310 strain rosette and the os3320, which adds an integrated temperature compensation element. Up to 96 os3300 sensors can be integrated on a single Luna HYPERION instrument.
The sensors are compatible with ENLIGHT Sensing Analysis Software, which provides tools for data acquisition, computation and analysis of optical sensor networks, as well as with the HYPERION platform Application Programming Interface (API), with examples in LabVIEW, Python, Matlab, C++ and C#.
