Overview
The Luna ss3344 is a rapidly swept wavelength fiber laser with a high coherence length, designed for coordinate measuring machine (CMM) metrology, 3D semiconductor inspection and other industrial imaging and ranging applications. The manufacturer has discontinued this product.
According to Luna, the ss3344 reaches coherence lengths as high as 90 mm at a 1 kHz sweep rate. Combined with a suitable optical probe, this allows dynamic interferometric measurement of surfaces, features and dimensions in CMM and industrial imaging systems.
The SOLARITY line of swept wavelength lasers produces highly linear wavelength sweeps and provides wavelength trigger and calibration pulse signals. These signals support high-resolution imaging and ranging systems, which need sweep rate recalibration only periodically.
SOLARITY lasers use Luna's Fabry-Perot technology platform with piezoelectric actuators. Luna rates these actuators at an MTBF above 3000 years under specified operating conditions. The manufacturer reports thousands of units in the field and more than 100 million hours of field use for the platform.
