Overview
The Anritsu Shield Box MA8161A provides a simple over-the-air (OTA) environment for mmWave protocol testing, supporting frequencies between 600 MHz and 43.5 GHz. It covers both sub-6 GHz and mmWave bands, so the same enclosure can be used across 5G NR and LTE test cases.
The unit is intended for 5G/LTE protocol R&D tests and PCT/CAT pre-tests, as well as regression testing during the 5G UE development stage. Typical use cases include protocol functional tests, throughput tests and debugging.
The MA8161A has a small footprint for benchtop use and easy handling. With Connector Panel 2 (MA8161A-002) fitted, the box provides SMA and K-type feed-through connectors and through holes for cabling to the test equipment. It is part of the Anritsu OTA product line, alongside the RF Chamber MA8171A and the CATR Anechoic Chambers MA8172A and MA8172B.
