Overview
The Anritsu CATR Anechoic Chamber MA8172A uses the 3GPP-compliant Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) method to perform 5G NR over-the-air (OTA) tests in a small space. It is intended for mmWave development and conformance testing of 5G NR chipsets, devices and user equipment (UE), and supports 5G NR mmWave spurious tests.
The chamber supports Alignment Option 1/2/3 and, with the Temperature Testing Option MA8172A-010, FR2 testing under extreme temperature conditions from -10°C to +55°C. The test terminal mounts and dismounts simply, and its mounting position is highly reproducible.
The MA8172A breaks down into three component parts for transport. Assembly and installation take less than 5 days, which cuts initial setup time. The chamber connects to the Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A and is controlled with the Position Controller MA8178A and Positioner MA8179A. It can be upgraded on site to the CATR Anechoic Chamber 2 MA8172B.
