Overview

The MU909014C6 is a member of Anritsu's MU909014C/14C6/15C/15C6 μOTDR Module series. The modules fit the Network Master MT9090A mainframe and together they form a handheld optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) small enough to hold in one hand.

Anritsu states that the series offers 2 cm resolution for mapping events, deadzones of less than 1 meter (3 feet) and a dynamic range of up to 38 dB. According to Anritsu, this is enough to test links of more than 150 km (90 miles) or PON-based FTTx networks with splits of up to 1 x 64.

The series combines OTDR testing at 1310 nm and 1550 nm with a filtered 1650 nm or 1625 nm wavelength. It also has PON power meter, loss test set and light source functions. An integrated launch fiber lets the first connector be measured without external devices, and the Fiber Visualizer mode lets users test without knowing how to read OTDR traces. The module connects over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and has a rugged, sealed design.
