Overview

The Anritsu VectorStar ME7838E4X is a 4-port broadband vector network analyzer system in the ME7838x4 series. It sweeps from 70 kHz to 110 GHz in a single sweep with guaranteed specifications and provides 1 mm coaxial test port outputs.

The ME7838x4 broadband systems use compact millimeter-wave modules to extend a VectorStar base VNA to 4-port broadband operation. According to Anritsu, the series provides positive raw directivity in frequency bands where other broadband systems show negative directivity, which improves calibration and measurement stability and lengthens the time between calibrations.

The system can also be configured with banded millimeter-wave modules for waveguide measurements up to 1.1 THz. It supports the 3744x-Rx receiver for noise figure measurements to 125 GHz.

Spectrum Analyzer Option

The Spectrum Analyzer option (Option 49) adds spectral-domain measurements such as harmonics, spurs, distortion products and spectral occupancy. Any port can be assigned as the spectrum analyzer port. Sources and receivers can be configured independently, so the instrument can also act as a tracking generator.
