Overview
The Anritsu VectorStar ME7838A4X is a 4-port broadband vector network analyzer system that sweeps from 70 kHz to 125 GHz with guaranteed specifications. It provides a 1 mm coaxial test port output and is part of the ME7838x4 series of 4-port broadband systems.
The ME7838x4 broadband systems use compact millimeter-wave modules based on Anritsu-developed Nonlinear Transmission Line (NLTL) technology. According to Anritsu, the series provides positive raw directivity across the band, which results in better calibration stability, better measurement stability and longer intervals between calibrations.
The system can be configured with banded millimeter-wave modules to extend coverage up to 1.1 THz. It also supports the 3744x-Rx receiver for noise figure measurements to 125 GHz.
Spectrum analysis
The Spectrum Analyzer option (Option 49) adds spectral-domain measurements such as harmonics, spurs, distortion products and general frequency content. It is available on all ports and supports dual SPA mode, several detection types and independent configuration of sources and receivers, which allows the instrument to be used as a tracking generator.
