Overview
The Anritsu MA24005A is a thermal power sensor in the MA2400xA series. It covers 10 MHz to 50 GHz and is designed for use with the ML2430, ML2480 and ML2490 series power meters. It measures across a dynamic range of –30 dBm to +20 dBm and connects through a V(m) RF connector.
Thermal sensors use Seebeck elements. A thermal gradient combined with charge migration between dissimilar metals produces a reading of the true average power of any incident waveform, so the sensor can measure signals of any modulation type or access scheme.
The sensor has a built-in EEPROM that stores calibration factor and linearity correction data. Its precision RF connector has a hexagon coupling nut, so it can be attached with an industry-standard torque wrench.
